Gold, Silver and a Little Sparkle
New Year's lights are the easiest holiday of the lot when your lights are permanent. The Christmas display is already on the roofline, so on the 31st you swap red and green for champagne gold, cool silver-white or a mix of party colors in the Gemstone Lights app. There is no second set of lights to hang and nothing extra to plug in.
Every light is individually addressable, which means gold can run along the eaves while white picks out the peaks and front entry. If you are hosting, a bright welcome over the driveway helps guests find the door. If you are watching the ball drop from the couch, dim everything to a low glow and let a slow animation do the rest.

A Fresh Start Without a Ladder
New Year's Day is usually when the take-down starts: ladders out on a cold morning, strings yanked off the gutters, and a tangle that will be next December's problem. With permanent lights that whole job disappears. A timer moves the house back to warm white, or to whatever you run in winter, and you get the day off.
January in Atlanta can bring a freeze or a rare dusting of ice. The lights and their sealed connections are built for freezing temperatures as well as summer heat, so nothing needs attention until Valentine's Day comes round.
