Lifetime coverage
Lifetime is defined by the manufacturer’s accelerated light testing: the lights are designed to last up to 50,000 hours, about 20 years at seven hours a day. How long the lights are actually used does not affect the warranty.
So a house in Duluth that runs warm white from dusk until bedtime every night, then switches to red and green for December, is covered the same way as one that only lights up for the holidays. Heavy use is what the lights are built for.
Lifetime light coverage applies to track lights and deck lights. Patio lights and flood lights carry 5 years on the lights instead, and every product shares 10 years on system parts. If you are weighing products, the products page compares them side by side.
Shared terms
Track, deck, patio and flood warranties differ in what they cover and for how long. The rules below are the same in all four documents.
Register Within 30 Days
Register the warranty within 30 days of the original installation date. The warranty is not valid otherwise.
Selling Your Home
The warranty can be transferred once, within the 10-year warranty period, to a new homeowner who contacts Gemstone Lights directly within 90 days of taking possession of the home. The new owner receives the remaining coverage up to a maximum of 2 years, provided at least 2 years remain; if less than 2 years remain, the new owner inherits the remaining balance.
Installation Labor
Labor is not covered: Gemstone Lights is not responsible for labor or other costs to install warrantied products or parts. Your authorized dealer may offer its own labor warranty, so ask them.
Repaired or Replaced Parts
Repaired or replaced products and parts are covered for the balance of the original warranty period or 30 days from the repair or replacement, whichever is longer, on the same terms.
Who Is Covered
Gemstone Lights USA Corp. warrants its products and parts to the Authorized Dealer and the end user when they are sold for installation and use in the USA. Coverage is against defects in material.
What Gemstone Lights Will Do
Gemstone Lights’ sole obligation is to repair or replace products and parts as an authorized Gemstone Lights representative deems necessary during the warranty period. Gemstone Lights is not responsible for delays in repair or replacement.
Claims
These steps come from the return process in every Gemstone Lights warranty. If Gemstone Lights Atlanta installed your system, we are your installer, so step one is a service request with a short description and a photo or two.
Step 1: Start With Your Installer
Submit a warranty claim with your product installer.
Step 2: Get an RMA Number First
If you are not satisfied with the installer’s resolution, contact Gemstone Lights at warranty@gemstonelights.com or (888) 908-2675 and get a return material authorization (RMA) number before shipping anything. The RMA number must be included in the shipping container; returns without one may be rejected and sent back freight collect.
Step 3: Ship Only If Asked
If Gemstone Lights asks for the item, ship it freight prepaid with a written description of the claimed defect.
Step 4: Keep the Part
If you are not asked to ship it, keep the product or part for at least 12 months after the claim in case Gemstone Lights needs it for verification or testing.
Step 5: Pack It Properly
Pack returns in the original carton or equivalent. Damage in transit is the end user’s responsibility and may void the claim.
Georgia gets its share of summer thunderstorms, so this is the part worth reading before you need it. The warranty is void in these situations:
Wear items, and any other products or parts that need periodic replacement due to normal wear, are not covered. The warranty does not cover items used outside their intended application.
Gemstone Lights pays surface freight to return products or parts covered by the warranty. If Gemstone Lights reasonably determines that a returned item is not defective or doesn’t qualify for warranty service, the end user pays all handling and transportation costs.
No other warranties, expressed or implied, are given, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and Gemstone Lights is not liable for lost profits or special, consequential or incidental damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you, and you may have other rights that vary by jurisdiction.
The warrantor is Gemstone Lights USA Corp. This page summarises the US documents in plain English; the PDFs above are the full, governing terms.

Yes. Registration has to be done within 30 days of the original installation date, or the warranty is not valid. You can register in the Gemstone Lights app when it prompts you after installation, or on gemstonelights.com. Our warranty registration page walks through both routes.
It can transfer once to the new homeowner, within the 10-year warranty period. The buyer needs to contact Gemstone Lights directly within 90 days of taking possession. They receive the remaining coverage up to a maximum of 2 years, or whatever balance is left if less than that remains.
Labor is not covered: Gemstone Lights is not responsible for labor or other costs to install warrantied products or parts. Your authorized dealer may offer its own labor warranty, so ask them. Ask about installation labor terms during your consultation so you know where you stand before anything is installed.
No. On products with lifetime light coverage, how long the lights are actually used does not affect the warranty, so nightly warm white and a busy December cost you nothing. Patio and flood lights are covered for a set term (5 years) instead.
Power surges, lightning and other weather-related incidents are listed among the conditions that void the warranty. That is why the exclusions above are worth a read. If a storm does damage your system, send us a service request with photos and we will help you sort out the repair.
Flood lights installed before October 1, 2026 are covered by the Product Warranty. Flood lights installed after that fall under the Flood Lights warranty, revised October 1, 2026, with 5 years on the lights and 10 years on system parts.
